I built a Hackintosh in mid 2017 with a GTX 1080 and it was a dream. Accidentally killed my build and didn't have time to figure out how to fix it, so I was using my hardware as an Ubuntu server for a lot of data processing and machine learning. Finally turned it back into a Hackintosh again this week and was so bummed to find out Mojave and Catalina don't have Nvidia drivers. Granted, it's still way better than the mid-2012 MBA I was using, but I wish I could still use that GPU.

Personally, I would just throw High Sierra back on the machine. It's the best of the semi-recent macOS releases anyway.

It's going to go out of support when 10.16 is presumably released this fall, but... I don't know, live a little!
