I suffer Windows at work, so I stay clear of it in my personal stuff.

I used to think like that, but doing Linux installs since 1995's Summer eventually gets tiring, especially in gaming and graphics workstation laptops, thus it lives on VMa for me.

Just avoid Nvidia and you're good. Intel/AMD hardware works out of the box with Mesa.
